It is commonly used for out-of-office messages, holiday notices, or &ldquo;we received your message&rdquo; confirmations. cPanel\u2019s built-in autoresponder tool lets you set one up in minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Create an Autoresponder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to your <strong>cPanel<\/strong> account.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Email<\/strong> section, click <strong>Autoresponders<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Add Autoresponder<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Fill in the following fields:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Character Set:<\/strong> Leave as <code>utf-8<\/code> (recommended)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Interval:<\/strong> How many hours to wait before sending the same person another auto-reply (e.g., <code>24<\/code> = once per day per sender)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Email:<\/strong> The address that will send the auto-reply (e.g., <code>info@yourdomain.com<\/code>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>From:<\/strong> The sender name shown in the reply (e.g., <em>Your Company Name<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Subject:<\/strong> The subject line of the auto-reply (e.g., <em>We received your message<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Body:<\/strong> The message content<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, set a <strong>Start<\/strong> and <strong>Stop<\/strong> date to automatically activate and deactivate the autoresponder (useful for holiday periods).<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create\/Modify<\/strong> to save.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example Autoresponder Message<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>Subject: We received your message\n\nHi,\n\nThank you for contacting us. We have received your email and will get back to you within 1\u20132 business days.\n\nBest regards,\nThe Support Team\nyourdomain.com<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Edit or Delete an Autoresponder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To <strong>edit<\/strong>: Go to <strong>cPanel &rarr; Autoresponders<\/strong>, find the autoresponder in the list, and click <strong>Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>delete<\/strong>: Click <strong>Delete<\/strong> next to it and confirm. The autoresponder will stop immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Interval<\/strong> setting prevents the same person from receiving repeated auto-replies. Setting it to <code>0<\/code> means they get a reply every time they send an email.<\/li>\n<li>Autoresponders will also reply to <strong>automated emails and newsletters<\/strong>, which can cause loop issues. Most bulk mail systems detect and handle this correctly, but it is something to be aware of.<\/li>\n<li>If you want to be truly unreachable during a period (e.g., extended leave), combine the autoresponder with a <strong>forwarder<\/strong> to a colleague so someone else can still respond.<\/li>\n<li>Autoresponders send replies from the server, so make sure your <strong>SPF and DKIM<\/strong> records are configured correctly to avoid replies going to spam.
