How to Point Your Domain to Veerhost Using A Records

Estimated reading: 1 minute

Veerhost domains are connected by pointing DNS records to your server IP (not by changing nameservers). Once your A records are correct, visitors will reach your Veerhost server.

Before you start

You need:

  • Your Veerhost server IP address
  • Access to your domain’s DNS manager (where the DNS zone is hosted)

Step 1: Get your Veerhost server IP

Find the server IP in your Veerhost welcome email or inside cPanel (often in the sidebar or “Server Information”).

Step 2: Update the root domain (@)

In your DNS manager, create or edit an A record:

  • Host/Name: @ (or leave blank, depending on provider)
  • Type: A
  • Value/Points to: your Veerhost server IP
  • TTL: default is fine

Step 3: Update www

You have two good options:

  • A record: www → same Veerhost IP
  • OR CNAME: www@ (recommended if your provider supports it)

Step 4: Remove conflicts

Make sure you don’t have:

  • Another A record for @ pointing to a different IP
  • A www record pointing to a different service
  • Forwarding/redirect rules at the registrar overriding DNS

Step 5: Wait for DNS propagation

Most updates apply within a few hours, but may take up to 24–48 hours due to caching.
