How to Install WordPress on Veerhost (cPanel)

Geschätzte Lektüre: 3 Minuten

WordPress can be installed in just a few minutes using the application installer available in your cPanel account. Most hosting accounts include Softaculous Apps Installer or WordPress Manager, allowing you to deploy a new WordPress website without manually uploading files or creating a database.

This guide walks you through the installation process.

Before You Begin

Before installing WordPress, make sure you have:

  • An active hosting account with cPanel access.
  • A domain name connected to your hosting account.
  • A valid email address for your WordPress administrator account.

Step 1: Open the WordPress Installer

Log in to your cPanel account.

Locate and open one of the following applications:

  • Softaculous Apps Installer
  • WordPress Manager by Softaculous
  • WordPress Toolkit (available on some hosting plans)

Click Install or Install Now to begin the setup process.

Step 2: Select Your Domain

Choose the domain where you want to install WordPress.

You can install WordPress in different locations:

Installation LocationDirectory
Main websitepublic_html
Subdirectorypublic_html/blog
Another folderpublic_html/store

If you’re installing WordPress as your main website, leave the Directory field empty. This installs WordPress directly on your domain (for example, yourdomain.com).

Step 3: Configure Your Website

Enter the basic information for your new WordPress website, including:

  • Website Name
  • Website Description (optional)
  • Language
  • Time Zone (if available)

These settings can be changed later from the WordPress dashboard.

Step 4: Create Your Administrator Account

Create your WordPress administrator account.

You’ll need to provide:

  • Administrator Username
  • Administrator Password
  • Administrator Email Address

Choose a strong, unique password and store it in a secure password manager. Avoid using common usernames such as admin whenever possible.

Step 5: Complete the Installation

Review your installation settings and click Install.

The installer will automatically:

  • Download the latest version of WordPress.
  • Create the required database.
  • Configure your website.
  • Complete the installation.

This process usually takes less than a minute.

Step 6: Access Your WordPress Dashboard

Once the installation is complete, you’ll receive your WordPress login details.

Your administrator login page is typically:

https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin

Sign in using the administrator username and password you created during installation.

Troubleshooting

If the installation does not complete successfully:

  • Confirm that your domain has been added to your hosting account.
  • Verify that your domain is pointing to your hosting server.
  • Ensure sufficient disk space is available.
  • Check that no previous WordPress installation exists in the selected directory.
  • Clear your browser cache and try again.

If the issue persists, contact the VeerHost support team for assistance.

Notes

  • WordPress can be installed on your main domain, a subdomain, or a subdirectory.
  • Most installers automatically create the required MySQL database.
  • After installation, keep WordPress, themes, and plugins updated to maintain security and performance.
  • Install an SSL certificate before launching your website to enable HTTPS.
