How to Set Up Email Forwarders in cPanel

Overview

An email forwarder automatically sends all emails that arrive at one address to another address — without needing to log in to that inbox. For example, you can forward [email protected] to your personal Gmail account so you never miss a message. This guide shows you how to set up forwarders in cPanel.

How to Create an Email Forwarder

1. Log in to your cPanel account.
2. In the Email section, click Forwarders.
3. Click Add Forwarder.
4. In the Address to Forward field, enter the email address you want to forward (e.g., info).
5. Select your domain from the dropdown.
6. Under Forward to Email Address, enter the destination email address (e.g., your Gmail).
7. Click Add Forwarder.

Emails sent to [email protected] will now be automatically forwarded to your chosen address.

How to Forward All Emails for a Domain (Catch-All)

A catch-all forwarder sends any email sent to any address at your domain (even addresses that do not exist) to a single inbox. This is useful so no message ever bounces.

1. In the Forwarders page, click Add Domain Forwarder.
2. Select your domain and enter the destination email address.
3. Click Add Domain Forwarder.

⚠️ Note: Catch-all forwarders can attract a lot of spam. Use them selectively, and make sure your spam filter is enabled at the destination address.

How to Delete a Forwarder

1. Go to cPanel → Forwarders.
2. Find the forwarder you want to remove in the list.
3. Click Delete next to it and confirm.

Important Notes

• Forwarding to an external provider (like Gmail or Outlook) means the email is re-sent from your server. If your SPF record is not set up correctly, forwarded emails may end up in spam. See our guide on Fix Email Delivery Issues (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Forwarders do not keep a copy in the original inbox by default. If you want to keep a copy, choose Forward to email address AND keep a local copy when creating the forwarder.
